Hey I found a nickel-plated fiddle-edge 1930's "Dobro/Regal" squareneck for just under $2K, does this seems about right? Looks to be in pretty good shape. I've been looking for just such a thing & hardly ever see one at all. . .thanks!

Paul -- Is it engraved, or the plain nickel-plated version?

Some of the nickel-plated fiddle-edge Dobros are German Silver, while others are brass bodies. http://www.provide.net/~cfh/dobro.html#m14

The price seems a bit high but not outrageous, provided that you like the sound of a spider bridge in a metal body -- a lot of people don't, and the brass bodies seem to be the least popular.

It is not engraved. I'm going to see it in person this week so I'll know more about how it sounds. . .thanks for the info!
