I'm looking for information about Mason lap steels. I think they were made in Canada and they used Gibson electronics. That's all I know. Thanks |

As a Canadian...I regret to say I have never heard of the brand. |

Masons were made in Canada, and were really designed like '57 Chevys -- very space-age look, often with pastel colors and matching amps that were also uniquely designed like modern 50's furniture. A few years ago I saw a few on ebay and wish I had snatched a matching pair up. My guess is that they likely were made in mid to late 50's, just going by their look. |

They're always a big hit at K.O.C. functions. |

Hi guys and girls. Back on April 30, I posted the following about Mason lap steels:
"This is nothing spectangular, but recently there was a Mason steel guitar on eBay. A couple of days ago, I came across a pile of old misc. steel guitar music in a local thrift shoppe, and was surprised to see it advertised. I'm assuming it was the trade name for the Ontario Conservatory of Music. You can see the data here:"
But a couple of weeks ago, I deleted the data from the website. If anybody is interested, I can post the ad again.
