I’ve just got to tell all of you about a great new western swing cd by my dear friend and former Time Jumpers band mate Carolyn Martin. It is called Carolyn Martin Swing. Carolyn is one of the best singers in the world of jazz, western swing and country music. This cd brings out the best in her swing side. It features some of Nashville’s best musicians. John Hughey, Mike Johnson and I did the steel work. It was an honor for me to be a part of such a great project. You can hear some clips at Carolyn’s web sit at the link below and you will want to order one from there as well. Eight bars and you’ll be hooked on this young lady, as I was the first time I heard her. She puts a smile on your face.

Johnny,
It is awesome! I am already scheduling it for my "Swingin' West" show and a review of it should be up on my web site tonight or tomorrow. I will bump this thread when I have it up. You are fantastic on that and also the new Rawstin CD that I am also using on the show.

Hey Johnny thanks for the info. I listed to every sample and I am hooked also. The sound and feel of the music takes me back to late 40' music. Cd is clean, clear and the players outstanding. If you like Western Swing this is a must have CD. Just love the TimeJumpers as well. Johnny what a great project. Karen and I wish you continued success. God bless and keep you and Joan. _________________ ShowPro SD10, Mullens RP, Bose S1 Pro, GK MB200, MB500, Bugera T50 Tube amp with SlidgeRig, TC HOF reverb effect. |

The Time Jumpers DVD/CD was just awesome! Some of the best swing and country perfomances I've ever seen. Steel Guitar with 3 fiddles, lead guitar, awesome cajun accordian playing, tight rhythm section and it all fits together like a glove. This was first time I ever heard of Dawn Sears and Carolyn Martin. Spade Cooley had a great band and I bought all of his stuff, but this band is BETTER with super tight arrangements that are recorded to perfection.
"Swing" has some choice cuts on it and the sound samples are very generously long. I just ordered my copy!

I just found out that CD Baby has sold out of Carolyn's first shipment and more should be available on in a few days. You can also order direct from Cuppa Joe Records (Dave and Carolyn's label) for a bit less money - $17.50 ($15 plus 2.50 for shipping and handling) at: Cuppa Joe Records
PO Box 274

Get them while there hot! _________________ Johnny "Dumplin" Cox

Just talked to Dave Martin and he wanted me to let you all know that c.d. baby is not out of c.d.s So go ahead and order you 10 or 12.
I want to add that I picked up a copy in Texas last month and I think this is without a doubt one of the finest projects I've ever heard. You can't beat it. A GREAT singer and GREAT players. The production is first class. _________________ Zumsteel steel guitars, Telonics and Peavey amplifiers, GHS strings. |

I know Johnny would steer you wrong so I clicked on Carolyn's website to listen to some clips.
Wow! That gal can sing. Great Job and good tasteful music.
I knew she was from West Texas when I heard the first few notes.
Very Good!!!!!!! Thanks for passing that along Johnny. |
