Does anyone know the size of the set screw for the lock collars on push and pull rods on Emmons p/p guitars? I have one that has a stripped hex hole and won't tighten with an allen wrench. Note: the threads on the collar and set screw are OK. I have a gig to play tonight and need to get a replacement (as well as extras) today.

Keep on pickin'!

I'd take a good setscrew to the hardware store and match it up...them buy a dozen extras.

Mike, I have access to a well-stocked machine shop in the Physics Dept. here at the Univ. of Texas. I just don't have the bad set screw with me to match it up. I'm thinking it's an 8-32 x 3/16" set screw. Can anyone verify my hunch?

The lock collar in question was discovered by "yours truly" last night while changing strings and doing a periodical maintenance check of the undercarriage. The lock collar is on the push rod for pedal 5 G to F# change. It's the one that keeps the push rod from sliding out of the hole on the "lower" finger.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Glenn,
8-32 should be correct.

Thanks, Bobby! Aside from the periodic minor adjustments, my D10 plays just as well as the day you "Bowmanized" her.... three-and-a-half years ago. Smooth as silk. Thanks, again for all your efforts.

Hey Bill, I'm only gonna borrow a set screw. I'll give it back... sooner or later. Wink

It's good to hear from both of you. 'Hope all is going well in Cypress and Bastrop.

Keep on pickin'!
