Thanks : i beleive that was the tuning for the 14 string shobud, some of the pedals were stacked on it. i remember him playing it at the first steel guitar jam that i ever witnessed. the show was in the back of shots place when it was on broadway, some of you may have been there.....thanks jack

Thanks everyone, bob emailed me same chart that dan posted. i am trying to set it up like julian and myself discussed several times. as soon as i get everything worked out i will send the copedant to anyone interested. it will allow you to play hard core country or be able to do most of the stuff that julian did without being a universal tuning...thanks jack

Jack, if you can play hardcore country, jazz, and all that Julian played it "is" a Universal Tuning. I see a couple of E9/B6 changes on there such as pedal 10 which is a common U-12 change.....JH in Va.

it may be a universal in some aspects, but you dont have to lower any strings to make it universal. it is a e/6th tuning from the 5/th string to the 14/th, in other words you dont have to lower 4 and 7 and play two frets back.if you are playing e/9th on the 5/th fret it is an a chord also if you play 5 thru 14 it is an a/6th...thanks jack

Jack,
I had a sierra 14 string keyless built specifically with Julian's Tuning on it. After playing it for a year, "for me" there was a lot of the E9 "stuff" I missed. I think you will find it better to put on a keyed over a keyless. Needless to say, Tom is switching mine to the Universal Tuning on Sierra's site.
I will say this, It was easier to copy his stuff on that tuning.
Missing pedal setup for "Day" BC Combination.
It was fun to play, and I did use it for a year on gigs but it just was to much missing for what I wanted when it came to signature licks or standard tabs.
I know you got experience with the copedant so it shouldn't be a problem for you. Smile

Dan: the way mine will be set up, it will have the abc emmons setup just like a universal, i am going to experiment a little with the other five pedals but i beleive it will work. julian and i discussed this setup long before he passed away. i will keep you informed on how it works out. it will be a few days before i get er done....thanks jack
