Well after a couple of years woodshedding I finally get to post some lap steel tunes. Heres my first contribution, my thanks to Henry Niel for loaning me his Wechter Sheerhorn on this original track 'Only You' (very Auldridge inspired !)
My thanks to all here for helping me along the way.
To listen go to
www.myspace.com/mykevinbrown you'll see Only You on the track list
By the way thats my Pete Howlett weiss in the pic alongside my Gulbransen floorstanding valve radio, Enjoy !! |

That was absolutely beautiful Kevin. You have a fantastic touch, really smooth. What tuning were you using? I would love to learn to play that song what a great tune. Do you know if there is any tab available?

Well thanks fella's that sure starts of the weekend nicely, had a nervy few hours there but feel bit more relaxed now. Apologies for not mentioning tune and tuning (ME of all people !!) Its an original composition and there are a good few more on the way. The tuning is open E major with 5th string up a tone from B to C sharp (6th) also (and this is the important bit the top string is down a semitone to E flat) I have no idea what its called but just seemed to stumble across it, I'v written two more in this tuning and will post soon. Really appreciate your comments, they mean a lot to me |

Hey Kevin, it's simply magnificant. And how a tune of such simplicity can sound so beautiful, and it's totally uncomplicated, just pure beautiful playing. The rhythm playing behind it just suits it. Congrats and keep up the excellent work.
