I'm amazed no one from your area has chimed in. From what I remember about Texas, there's a musician in every other household. As a youngster I played in a group mostly utilizing the Lounge Lizard circuit in the border towns. Also the Freer Texas Rattlesnake Round Up, YAHOO!

It seemed back then in the mid 70's I met dozens of great musicians everywhere I went. A whole lot of front room and porch paying in-between the funky lounge gigs.
