Just finished booking; this will be my first. Are there any workshops or classes going on that I might want to try and reserve a spot for? Anywhere I can get that info? |

If you like Jazz played on the steel guitar, don't miss the Jazz Room on Saturday morning. This is coordinated by Jim Stahlhut and it was great last year, and I'm sure it will be even better this year. _________________ Darvin Willhoite
MSA Millennium, Legend, and Studio Pro, Reese's restored Universal Direction guitar, a restored MSA Classic SS, several amps, new and old, and a Kemper Powerhead that I am really liking. Also a Zum D10, a Mullen RP, and a restored Rose S10, named the "Blue Bird". Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic that was built as a demo in the early '70s. I also have a '74 lacquer P/P, with wood necks, and a showroom condition Sho-Bud Super Pro. |

Are these deals first come first served, or is there some sort of preregistration system? |

This is just a part of the show. There is always something going on, just like a three ring circus, you just can't take it all in. There's usually a Hawaiian show sometime during the convention, and there's always mini-concerts going on in the distributors rooms such as Peavey, Zumsteel, MSA, Fulawka, and others I can't think of right now. You'll think you died and went to Heaven. _________________ Darvin Willhoite

The Hawaiian show is Friday from 10:00 A.M. until about 4:00 P.M. Each player does a half-hour set. It is coordinated by International Hall Of Fame Member Leonard T. Zinn -- a great steel guitarist. Some years there has been a group of authentic Hula dancers. _________________ Pioneers of Western Swing HOF, Seattle 2005

There will most likely be a seminar offered by one of the top teaching pros. For many years Jeff Newman offered one there, Joe Wright held one last year. I would imagine that Doug Jernigan and Herby Wallace have held seminars at Scotty's in the past. Usually it will be on Friday and wraps up prior to the opening ceremony.
This would require pre-registration. Keep an eye on the anouncements (and this thread) to see what's up for 2007. _________________ HagFan
