If you use a Session 400, where do you normally set the volume and sensitivity controls? Do you get better or different results with one set higher than the other? I have two of these but no papers or instructions. Thanks. |

Depends on how loud you need to be for the job. I usually leave my volume around 9:00 and adjust the sensitivity to the band volume. At home, I turn sensitivity off.

I like to run the Sensitivity at least 1 or 2 o'clock, sometimes a bit higher on a loud gig, and then adjust the volume appropriately, usually around 9 o'clock (yep, that's pretty dang loud). To me the amp just opens up more with the Sensitivity up higher. I was talking to somebody else on the forum about that, Chris LeDrew maybe???? He had the same experience.
That's JMO, might not be what works best for you, and like Dennis said, at home you can turn the Sens down and control the overall volume pretty well. That also makes the amp VERY low-noise. You can hardly tell it's on. _________________ Lost Pines Studio

Thanks again. I found that, on my two amps, running the sensitivity twice as high as the volume works best. S=6, V=3 for example. |

Like I mentioned on another post, I've known a few pros to run the sensitivity wide open on gigs - with the volume set fairly low. _________________ Jackson Steel Guitars
