I doubt there is much of any difference.
But they are great bars if you treat them gently. |

The old Black Rajah 8-str. Tone~Bar that I had years ago was a Tapered~Bar w/flat-tip. I also had a Bigsby 8-str. Chrome Tapered~Bar w/round-nose. Both were very nice bars! Although your eyes might play tricks on you, when attempting to hold the bar straight across the fret!

They are smooth playing bars, but they're a bit too long and that flat nose can snag the strings.
They cost $2.50 back then . .
Chuck Brattain's Rajahs play just as nice if not nicer,
and they have a rounded bullet nose.
Chuck makes different sizes and he stands behind his product. http://aguitarcenter.com

Bid if you like, but Chuck's bars are just fine new. Check the new prices before bidding.
You may get a deal, but no sense paying more than the new price. |

Charlie,
I have the same exact bar with the taper. After the bidding was over, I ended up paying $70.00 for it.
Hey Rick, do you know if these original Rajah's were offered in 2-3/4 X 3/4 without the taper? |

I played one of Chuck's bars (actually, both the Red Rajah and the Black Phoenix) at a friend's house the other day. Couldn't get over the difference in lack of drag. They really feel good.
$2.50, now for $70. Shocking. |

Yep. I have one. It came with a steel that I bought. It has a flat nose |

Howard, better hang on to that bar, I have never seen a Black Rajah with a flat nose?
The regular ones have a taper down to a bullet and then a very small flat tip. Chuck |

Derrick, HowardR was fortunate to get a 2 3/4" BR. I have 3 that were all case candy, and they're all 3" long with flat noses of various circumferences. The most pristine of the 3 is the one with the biggest flat spot. It came with a 57 Stringmaster T8, and it was still in the original box.. They are all real nice playing bars, especially that one.
