Sunday is butt-kicking day ... Shocked

My buddy (and forum member) Steve Miller will be coming out to my home ... to test out my new "Potbelly".

He's bringin' a few steels out ... Supro w/ NIBros, etc ... to get a good ole' fashion a$$ kicking ... Wink

I'll be firin' up the smoker/grill & will have plenty of beer ...

My Ellie just turned 7 yrs old and her big party is Saturday ...

So I'll be ready to unwind abit (actually will be winding a Potbelly in the morning) ... ha, ha

So anybody who wants to come out ... come on out.

You'll leave with a smile on your face ... Laughing

Nothing like a good "Shootout in the Shenandoahs"... Very Happy Any steelers within driving distance should c'mon down! Rick's hospitality and awesome steel collection will make it a memorable trip, guaranteed.

One thing we need to get straightened out about the "butt-kicking", buddy-- you seem to forget that it's your NiBro magnets that make my Supro such a "worthy contender"....so if the new Potbelly wins that match, you'll be kickin' your own a$$!! Razz Wink But no worries, mate-- I'll be bringing the traditional Growler full of "invigorating spirits" to get you ready for what might be the main event......duallin' Sierra laptops.

If the home team's Potbelly is able to take down the road team's Truetone (a true heavyweight), I might start have to start calling your new creation "the Sumo". Cool Exclamation

Win, lose or draw-- I'm ready Mad Laughing

Well ... The immortal words of Jim Croce summed it up best:

Quote:
Well a hush fell over the pool room
Stevey come boppin' in off the street
And when the cuttin' were done
The only part that wasn't bloody
Was the soles of the big man's feet
Yeah he were cut in in bout a hundred places
And he were shot in a couple more
And you better believe
They sung a different kind of story
When big Steve hit the floor

Steve will have to fill in the details ...

I had a great evening ... this morning is a tad fuzzy ... Evil Twisted

I WANT A REMATCH! (Just gimme a couple days to recover.)

No, there weren't any knockouts-- but on my card the Potbelly was ahead on points for the evening. Made the Supro sound a little too "trebly", made the Sierra/Truetone's top end seem a little dull by comparison...which might sound contradictory, but tonally this is a real well-balanced pickup with a full, warm sound and a high end with some crispness and bite to it. To me it sounds the way a steel guitar pickup should sound. (Fans of a bright cutting Fenderish-type tone might not agree.) The "Potbelly" is 100% Rick's work, and man, he done good!

Rick, I'd climb in the ring with that one anytime. Since I'm a glutton for punishment, how about this weekend? (Just to see if I hear things the same way twice... Surprised )Anything for science! Very Happy

PS: Don't forget the sweet nectar of the "Raison " ... best beer I've ever tasted ... a true "Knockout"... Cool

Harry ... Italian Sausage, chicken wings and beer ... of course.

Anyway ... this Sunday's session lasted a tad longer (2:30 am) and Monday was a tad more difficult to navigate thru ... Evil Twisted

But Steve left with no doubt as to who (or in this case, what) ... Reigned Supreme Laughing Wink

Well Rick, I do remember how it "rained supreme" while I was trying to get from my car to your front door, now that you mention it. Evil Twisted As for the Potbelly, I've never had a pickup named after me before-- I certainly do appreciate it. Laughing

Actually, my thought was "I gotta have this pickup" instead of the usual "I gotta have this guitar". Already I'm saving money!

Thanks for the luxury accomodations-- I slept like your "PR man" after a milk bender.... Smile
