I wanted to document a few of my last performances with the Moonlighters so I brought my little digital camera to my gig in Boston yesterday. Quality is pretty poor (there is a pro shot video of this concert, though), but nevertheless, it's all I have. I'll add them as they become available. Here are the links (they may not be available immediately):

Makin' Wickey Wackey video

Honolulu March video

Dreamland video

Good idea, Mike-- and more would be welcome! I'll add these to my memories of live Moonlighters in Berryville and Baltimore. Best of luck as your new musical projects take shape...

I talked with Steve M. today ... and we spoke about how lucky we were to have seen y'all ... "in your prime".

Personally, I saw y'all 3X last year ...

Here at my home ...

Down the road at Chip Schute's guitar camp finale (Boyce Va)...

Then in Baltimore ... where I sat with Dave Giegerich (aka THE Hula Monster) and enjoyed the show.

Those memories can't be taken away ... Laughing Cool

Looks fun as hell to be in the same room as you folks! Maybe that's considered east coast casual but I still like the way you guys dress.

Dreamland is my favorite... Mike, the way you sweep back after the note is beautiful to my ears.

Great job, Mike.

I really dig Andrew's bass slapping on the beginning of "Boxcar with a View." He never ceases to amaze me.

Beautiful solo on "Beyond Relief", Mike. Just curious, did you ever frypan it with the Moonlighters?

Jeff, I did use the Frypan with the Epiphone Zephyr amp (beautiful wooden amp) on a number of gigs. We used to play Thursdays at this place called Waikiki Wally's, and between the noise of the faux waterfalls and the office workers chatting, it was too difficult to go acoustic.

I played a gig with the Frypan about 1 month before I sold it, and I have to say, I think it was the best I'd ever sounded. It was plugged into an SWR California Blonde, and the sound was stunning. I have a few tapes of rehearsals with the frypan through the Microcube, and they sound surprisingly good.

Hi Mike-

Just for my own edification: Are all these tunes being played with your guitar in C#m tuning? And if so, would you mind spelling it out for me?

I'm really enjoying these video clips you're posting. I never got to see you guys live, and it's a real treat to see the group perform. Thanks! Cool

Sorry I missed you guys in my back yard yet again, Mike. Sigh. Hot solos and great right-in-the pocket time as usual. Chops and taste don't always co-exist as well as they do in your guitar playing. Good luck on your next steps.

It's the end of the line for me, and for steel guitar in this little band. These are the last vids.

Can you post any of those, Mike?

I've been really getting off on the tone of my 'pans through the MicroCube set on either the JC setting, or the 'British' setting. With some dialing in just right on the volume/tone knobs on the guitar, I can get just that perfect amount of even order harmonic distortion that really makes the guitar sing, and sound like it's jumping off an old McIntire recording.

I took one of my frypans to a local Guitar Center a while back, and tried it through several amps, including the little VOX D5 (their version of the MicroCube). I do have to say, the VOX sounded a bit richer and louder to me, and now that they have a "classic" version cometically, I may have to get one. I really dislike the industrial grill version's looks.

I'd love to hear what your frypan sounded like through those old Epiphones!
