RED FOLEY's great olde music never seems to age, nor does the fabulous steel guitar playing of JERRY BYRD!

The tune now playing on the JERRY BYRD FAN CLUB has a lot of great steel playing and Zeke Turner is there too, on lead guitar. The recording sound is really great and that drummer is really great. In those days, drummers worked to be a subtle part of the rythm section and would never have thought for a moment that their one and only role was to drown out everyone on stage by pounding their STICKS, doing rim shots and miking each and every piece of their equipment.

You might enjoy this "NEW MUSIC".

what a nice way to start the day. I am all smiley now.
Red Foley and that genre of music is one of my favorites. it is perhaps why I began playing lap steel.
watching old DVDs of Town Hall Party or other barn dance shows one can easily see how tied to one another the musicians were. they all contributed in such a polite way to the whole piece.

The tempo on that play-back is running a little bit fast. Jerrys vibrato brings it out.

The music does age but remains excellent examples of art and craftsmanship. The best is always the best regardless of the date it was created.
