I am wondering if any one has used a Blue Marvel 12"
mounted in a speaker box as a second NV112 so to speak ?
I have a 80 WT power amp that I am going to mount in a second speaker enclosure with a 12" Blue Marvel & use it as somewhat of second NV112 using my 1st NV112s line out.
All tone ,volume, EQ Etc will be tapped from the original 112 ????
Sure would save some $$ for me if it has that sound. |

I did something similar. I took an Express 112 (65watts) and put a Blue Marvel in it (great speaker!), changed the ICs to the Burr-Brown 2604s, and it sounds great. Of course, it doesn't have the NV112's EQ circuits, so it doesn't sound quite as good by itself. But when I run them together I've got a big, rich, full sound that is wonderful...and plenty of power for a pretty loud gig.
When I get some time, I'm going to install pre-amp out/pwr. amp in jacks on the Express so it can be used as a powered speaker cabinet.
Having a setup like this makes for some fun effect unit setups...run full stereo, run effects only into the Express, run different effects into each amp, etc. Can you tell I like to play around with this stuff? _________________ Best regards,

Oh, to answer your question...yes, running out of the NV112's preamp out (on the back), not the line out XLR, into the powered cab's input will send the 112's preamp signal to the cab. All you would need is a volume control on the powered cab's amp to adjust the balance between the two. _________________ Best regards,
