Hi everyone, I'm a new pedal steel player from Charleston WV and am looking for some help. I haven't found anyone in this area who plays much less teaches pedal steel or even lap steel. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions. A little about my back ground....I used to teach 6 string guitar for over 10 years and have a decent understanding of music theory. What I'm running into is I have no idea how to string together chords in a smooth and interesting way on this instrument. It's a completely different approach than what I'm used to on the acoustic/electric 6 string. Any info on lessons/teachers, or techniques would be appreciated.

Hey David, there is a player in you area and a fine one at that, his name is Hook Moore. He plays a jam at one of the Legions there in Charleston on Sunday evenings. You can search the forum for him and send him a PM. And there others close to you also. Happy Steelin'. Smile
