Ok... two pedals, one old Sho-Bud, the other Goodrich. Both with same pots set to where off is JUST off. The Goodrich is WAY louder than the Bud when I open it up.

Why?

Maybe the Goodrich turns the pot shaft more. If the string is a little longer and the pedal has more travel is all I could figure.
Look inside on both while you push the pedal down and see if the Goodrich turns the shaft more.

Michael, The Goodrich has a touch more travel. The bud has two bumpers screwed into the casing at each end, soaking up some of the travel, which causes less efficiency to your volume pot. So I take those bumbers off and put a sticky felt pad there. Helps open up that volume pot a little more, giving a little more travel. I love those old bud pedals!!
