i'm having so much fun with my 7-string lap steel conversion, that i thought it would be nice to have a 7-string dobro.
i remembered that stewart mcdonald used to sell a dobro kit, but i just looked at their website, and couldn't find anything.
does anybody make a squareneck, spider bridge guitar kit?
it might be time to take the drill and saw to the old dobro...

John, the Dobro kit is in Stew-Mac's catalog, but it's for a six string. I think Paul Beard sells a kit at Resophonic Outfitters.

A cheapo route would be to buy a Regal or Johnson on ebay and add a string or two. I converted a reject Peavy D body (bolt on neck like the old Epiphone) to reso and made an 8 string neck for. Works pretty good.

John -- Billy's correct ... Resophonic Outfitters has squareneck and roundneck kits.
