Another good jam today, Mike. Thanks to you and all the fellows who provided BIB, the sound system as well as fellow attendees. It was good meeting Dawn Jackson and road-testing the new Jackson PSG.

I also would like to say thanks to all who came out and signed up for the Southern California Steel Guitar Association.

There were some great players yesterday and today.

A big thanks to Mike Perlowin for putting this all together, it takes a lot of work.

Big thanks to Mike Perlowin for getting us the room again and of course the rest of the crew for the biab tracks, pa system and the projectors for the charts on the wall. Great job guys.
I think I counted 16 steels in the circle today and I really enjoyed hearing everyone's playing.
The new Jackson guitars that were available seemed to make everyone smile that played them, I know I did.
Last but not least a personal thanks to Jay Dee for his advise and help setting the height and tilt of my True Tone pick-up.

I want to thank everybody who came and played. Special thanks to Big Jim Baron, who supplied the BIAB tracks, John Hensch, who projected the images from the computer on to the walls so we could all see the chord changes, and those players, Billy Easton and Troy Porter from Arizona, and Frank Carter, David Wright and David Wren, as well as Big Jim, who drove hundreds of miles each way to participate.

I also want to thank Dawn Jackson and her friend Laura whose last name I didn't catch, who brought out a couple of the new Jackson steels for us to try out. There are of course, many fine steel guitars available. Based on what I saw, I'd say the Jackson is up there with the best of them.

I also want to thank the local players, Al Vescovo, Blackie Taylor, Doug Livingston, John McDuffy, Mark Switzer, Dean Parks, Phil Cannon, John McClung, Hank Mann, Billy Woo, Craig Ferguson, Chas Smith, Jim Eaton,John Walden, and Jim Ives for coming out and picking.(I hope I didn't forget anybody.)

Finally, the people who came out and watched and listened also deserve thanks. The restaurant gives us the use of the room for free, because they know that we all eat lunch there. By supporting the restaurant, you are insuring that we will continue to have the use of the banquet room.

I could not and did not put this thing together on my own. All these people contributed their efforts to this event a success.

We're gonna do it again next year. I hope everybody within driving distance comes down and joins in the fun.

What a great time we had in LA over the weekend! Thanks to Mike, Big Jim, John Hensch and all the others who made this weekend such fun. Got home last night about 10:00 pm to a refrigerator that had quit working and defrosted itself all over the kitchen floor. So Meriul and I were up half the night trying to salvage food and clean up the mess. Not such a great ending to an otherwise perfect weekend! It was great to see Al Vescovo, JayDee, Frank, Bronco Billy, Big Jim, and all the other players. Like family, as Frank Carter said.

Aloha to all and many thanx to "miky p" and the pearl jam. Being the only non pedal player there on Saturday was a challange but every one of you guys were so nice and tolerant and talented I felt right at home...I always learn so much from you pedal-cats especially volume pedal control and bar vibrato its a real kick to be there. I hope we can all stay in touch...Thanks again for having me
P.S. Also thanks to the Jackson guitar girls for beautifing the event ... X O

The wife and I came on Sat for a listen. It was fun and interesting to hear 14 renditions of the same song.

I like your new guitar Mike, real pretty. Thanks for making this weekend available for the jam.

A great time was had by all, Mike P, thanks for making the arrangements. Big thanks to John Hensch for providing the PA and great dual projectors, it really helps having the BIAB charts on the walls! And thanks, Big Jim Baron, for providing the BIAB tunes.

I played Sunday, man the level of playing was beautiful and amazing, and the comraderie was great, that's one of the best parts. I did miss Al Vescovo and Rick Schmidt, you guys gotta make both days next year, you hear?!

Special thanks to Dawn Jackson and Laura for bringing in the 2 Jackson guitars to try out, they're pretty wonderful, and so were both of you, I hope you come to more of our shindigs.

Pictures for all to enjoy...Email me if you would like copies or if you would like them removed. Sorry about the focus, my camera doesnt do too good with the flash off, and I didnt want to blind anyone while they were playing so I turned it off.

Hope to see you all again real soon.

David Wren, it was great to finally meet, I see you all over the Forum, and man, are you a great player! Even with nylon fingerpicks, and 3 at that, you had great, bright tone. Goes to show there just ain't no rules for how to play this contraption.

You NoCal players go hear David play, he's plays real tasty.

Thanks for the kind words John, and right back at ya!

Give me a holler when you'll next be coming north and we'll try to catch Dave Zirbel, Charlie Wallace, or some of the other hot N. Cal pickers!

We really missed you, Skip! And Vescovo couldn't make it Sunday either, nor Rick Schmidt, so we had some beloved alumni absent.

Next year we're going to do it in March. Probably the 22nd and 23rd.

It was difficult for Frank Carter to come this because of his work schedule. He made it, but he had to take time off from his work to do it. If we hold in in March, it will be better for him, and he is such a fine player and such a great an asset to the jam that I'm more than happy to hold it earlier in order to make it easier for him to come.
