Would using lo to hi EGACEG tuning be detrimental to a newbie steel player.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I should be safe (tension-wise) using the JagWire C6 strings from b0b since the scale length of the Artisan is so short (21").

I have a super short scale mini guitar set up for steel.
19.75" scale...
I have low to high
D F# A C# E G
I can find most of the things I need
on this, at acceptable tensions.

Dmaj7, D9, F#m7 (b9), A7, C#m b5

I didn' think your tuning would be detrimental.
You can learn something from any tuning.
But I had a hard time spelling a lot of chords from it.

Hey DD. I'm gonna fool around with your tuning tonite on my reso. Still searching for the best 6-string tuning to commit my time to...

By the way, I note that your last-named chord, C#mb5 is a diminished triad, which would work nicely for half-diminished or full-diminished chords (since we don't have the string for the 7th tone to differentiate between the two; but maybe someone else in the band will spell that one out...)

Where are you these days, by the way? Still in Thailand, or back in France?

Cheers,
Jimbeaux
