Well, that is one of the best model Mavericks made. Although some like that had Pro type keyheads with roller nuts and Grovers. Still, it's not even worth $800 dollars over here, Maybe $500, and that just because of the good wood. And do Carter Starters really cost that much over there? I wouldn't think even with shipping that would be true.

yer right Chris, only those who have Blue blood can have a psg in Europa
what i don't get is that psgs oughta be cheaper fer us here since the $ is down 36 % on the €uro !
1 €uro = 1.36 $ !

Well is the Shipping included? In Jan of 06 I shipped a Fender S10 3/1 to a fellow in London via Fed Ex and the charge for shipping alone was $270.00 or $6.75 per pound. But if the Euro is trading at $1.36. that should have brought the price infavor of the fellows across the pond. Let me see $1789 US wouldn't that make the insterment about 1315 Euros? Have I figured that rithe? Add shipping. Lets use my figure of $270 US, that would calculate to about 208 Euro's. Total the cost of the Insterment and shipping. 1523 Euros Is that righ? No Matter how you figure it the Players in Europe are at a disadvantage. Some one over there should start Building PSG's.

This same topic comes up periodically. Several years ago the price of a new Carter Starter in Australia was $AUS1750. A Maverick opened on e-bay locally with a starting price of $AUS1200 at around the same time. I bought my first steel in from the states because I saw the value in it. The shipping and tax added another 50% to the price. Then exchange rates. Its all matter of supply. There a plenty of steels in the US but not so many elsewhere. Economics?

Well Archie, Since your using Ebay to obtain your insterment, you are probably aware that the fun begins just before closing time. Been there and lost. Did you put an Auto Bid on the insterment with a Cap? I don't go to Ebay any more if I'm looking for an insterment [PSG} I check what's avaliable here here on the Fourm. Thats where I got my present set up.

I only posted to highlight the over-enthusiastic hopes of the seller. He/she either, does not know much about steel guitars or, is trying to take advantage of an innocent buyer.
I was neither buying nor selling.
