Anyone have any idea whether there is a power supply available somewhere to convert a Hilton pedal to 220v power (Europe)? Looking for one to swap in to the pedal rather than an additional step-down transformer. Thanks! |

Bad idea! You certainly don't want 220v in the pedal. A string end or piece of metal getting in there would throw all that power right into your guitar, creating a potentially lethal situation. I'm sure there are suitable power supplies made, but they're probably not as available here easily, and then there'd be the cost of the swap. I'd just get an external 220v-110v step-down transformer (with the proper plug and receptacle), and then plug the pedal into that.
Klunky, but safe and practical. |

Paul,
If you are talking about touring Europe with your Hilton most any consumer level step down transformer will work fine. The Hilton draws about the same juice as a shaver. All back line rental companies have them but it is usually cheaper to go to a local radio shack type store over there and buy a little one. _________________ Bob |

Thanks for the link. Sounds like the Motorola power supplies Keith uses must be really high-quality (from searching around it looks like they were designed for their Bitsurfer ISDN modems) & the trick would be finding something that didn't damage the pedal electronics.
Last few times I was over in Europe & the UK I had a passive volume pedal, and everything else I took (effects adapter, laptop, cell phone charger, etc.) had switching power supplies so no problems. I want to take my Hilton along this time, but then a transformer adds another 15-pound gadget and somewhere to put it. However, I think the band might just get a big one in the backline. |

Paul, many of us here have Hilton VPs
we have a wall wart transformer that converts the voltage to 110v fer the Hilton
they're easy to find & they don't weigh 15 lbs |

What Crowbear said.
I've paid mine less than 40 bucks and it's the luxury model!
