This is the postwar version of the double neck lap steel Rick introduced right before the war. I'm unsure of the exact date but these were made approx. between 1946 and 1954. It has (2) 8-string bakelite necks that mount into a cast aluminum body that has a removeable sheet metal back. The body is painted in bronze-color hammertone paint (original) with some flaking on the back. In fact, the entire guitar is original with the exception of 8 replacement tuner buttons. The chrome is corrosion-free and shiny. The tuners work well. The famous Rickenbacher horseshoe-style 1 1/4" wide pickups are sweet and strong giving this Ricky the reknown tone these are known for: sort of a cross between a Frypan and the Bakelite guitars. The original airline linen case is in good structural shape with working hinges and latches but it shows considerable wear around the dges. The guitar is stable electronically; neck switch operates correctly; jack is solid without any scratchiness. The tone and volume pots are difficult to turn and will need some cleaner to loosen them up but they are both in the full open position and allow a crystal clear signal to leave the guitar. It's ready to play and enjoy. 22.5" scale with 3/8" string spacing. Payment by money order or cashier's check: No PayPal. $650.00 firm plus cost of UPS shipping to your address. If you want to look up the shipping cost, go to the UPS website, pull up their calculator page and put in this info: Shipped from Claremont, NH 03743, parcel weighs 30 pounds and measures 36" X 19" X 6".
