What`s up with the Ohmite pots?
I just replaced pots on a few volum pedals I got. I had five pots for spare ALL of them does not work for a steel volum pedal.

Some works as on-off switch... Mad
some are impossible to play smooth with as they, on a scale from 0 to 10, comes on at 4 with just a tad movement of pedal.

This comes from a batch I got from the US. It is not the dealers fault - this is bad production.

Are there any good pot`s out there?
(I know, I know, I do have a Hilton )

Dag, last time I noticed, the new Ohmite pots are actually Canadian PEC's with the "Ohmite" brand stamped on them. Do check to be sure that the center leg (the wiper) on the pot is the "output" connection to the amp.

Dag, I replaced a volume pedal pot a couple weeks ago with the new canadian PEC pot and it works great. Several of the vendors in the links listing have them in stock.
Too early to tell about longevity, but reports from other users are favorable.

The Dunlop pot, available from Tom Bradshaw is getting good reports too.

Sounds like the spares they sold you were for other applications maybe or just bad ones.

I was thinking along the same lines as Jerry. Your description would seem to indicate a linear taper pot, instead of the required audio taper. Linear will come on right away, compared to the audio taper. But, I'm guessing here.

Thanks guys.
I know I wired them right. I took the wires off one at the time checked them with chord in the steel and amp before I installed the pot on it`s place.

It must have been a bad batch of pots. I know others in Norway who got pots from problably the same batch and have the same problem as I.

I`ve order some new PEC`s.

Thanks,
Dag

Off-hand, I'd say you have the wrong pots, not bad ones. If you post or send me the numbers off of one of them, I can tell you what you do have.
