Marlen Lite Beam Volume Pedal

Anyone know who made these pedals for Marlen? A good friend of mine sent me one to mess around with, seems that it affects the tone somewhat. I have two Marlen Steels & was curious about that pedal. I also have a Goodrich 480 lite beam pedal, its does not affect the tone quite as much. Can these pedals be udated?? Any info would be appreciated.
