Along with the Rondo SX LG1NA lap steel, I received the LGS50 lap steel guitar stand. This stand is an exact fit for the SX LG1 lap steel. It holds the guitar very snugly and works well. I wish it was more versatile, but for $40.00 USD, what you get works well.
Four adjustable legs are included. The legs are adjusted with large knobbed screws (I'm sure there's a real term for these, but I don't know what it is). The four legs are adjustable from approximately 3 feet to 5 feet in height. At a comfortable playing height (I'm 5'8") the stand was solid and very usable.
The guitar is held in place with small plastic coated flanges which fit the lap steel perfectly. I tried with various other lap steels (National, Gibson, Fender, Rickenbacker) and none of them would fit into the stand without modification of the guitar, the stand, or both.
Unfortunately no carrying case is available. The resulting package is somewhat hard to transport as is, but I'm sure an enterprising individual could come up with something.
If Rondo and Team International were to make a few modifications on this stand and make it able to hold other lap steels than their own SX LG1 lap steel, this could be a best seller. As it is, it's only useful for owners of this particular lap steel. _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel
