Ernie,
That's a good suggestion. Tom and Clyde worked very hard to get the time we have at that location.
I'll pass it along.
I suspect that since Saturday is a big day for the
Eagles Aerie already that there would be problems. |

Ernie, I can't speak for Tom but whenever you use a commercial establishment, such as an Eagles, VFW, etc or a place such as Catfish Johnny's you are at their mercy to when you can hold a jam, especially when it's give free.
If you are at a private residence or at a location that you are paying to use the facility you then have more options or time to do what you want. |

Thanks to all the folks that showed up for the jam.
I think this was the best one yet.Chuck Parrish was on top of his game on the old C6th neck and Shirley did a wonderful job on the vocals. You could feel the vibes goin on in " Kansas City ".
Doris Perry, you are a special singer and from all of us , thank you for coming. The steel is such a great back up instrument and you furnish the reason to play .
It was a pleasure to hear Roy on his Excel keyless.
His use of complex chords is very pleasing to this old ear.
For my first time on the 14 string universal tuning I thought it was ok. I missed a couple of grips and that is a problem with all those string to choose from. Vernon Rowe is great singer and his choice of songs alway fit the pedal steel very well. Gino was sharp tonight also, his highs were clear and nice.
Blake , in my opinion is playing better each jam. He had to use a strange bar as he left his home. But it didn't seem to matter as the music flowed pretty good out of the little six string lap steel.Everyone is playing with more confidence.
Tom murphy was right on tonight as a singer and playing his own back up. Archie was in good form also.
It was good to see Danny Hammers out and about, he was wound up like an eight day clock and I enjoyed visiting with him.
I would like to add this about our jam. Your set is your set, you can bring a singer if you want. We usually have three or four available. If you want a trumpet or flute or whatever, it is your set so have it your way. Thanks again, See you all next month.
Bud
PS: Thanks to Clye, Gordon and all who played back up. If I miised anyone I will make it up to you next time. |

What Bud Vanderberg said
-- and ---
It was great to see my old friends Bud, Blake, Tom and Danny and to meet a few new friends. I was hoping that Larry Danley would make it but he missed this one. Blake, you sounded good on that lap steel. Bud you did great on that 14 stringer, in spite of your short time learning new grips. I hope to be able to make the next jam in May. _________________ Pioneers of Western Swing HOF, Seattle 2005
