I've been messing with the famous Herb F#13(F#high,D#high,F#,Bb,E,G#,C#,E) tuning for about 3 days and finally today the half burned out light bulb started flickering. There are some lovely chord voicings(minor 9th,Dom 13)and it makes a I-vi-ii-V progression quite handy. It still is baffling though.
Does anyone know of any recordings that have this tuning and can anyone shed more light?
Thanks! |

See topic-3 classic Remington Tunes. Or you could email Herb through his web site. Or you could contact Rick A. _________________ Amor vincit omnia |

Didn't Joaquin Murphey use a version of this tuning on one of his necks? How did his version go? I think I saw it in Mr. Volk's book. But currently I'm suffering from the burdens of book loanership. _________________ Amor vincit omnia |

Speedy West used it - Herb Remington gave it to him.
The way the story goes, it was that tuning that got Speedy his Capitol Recording contract. |

I think Jeremy Wakefield uses it as well. I have the, "Steel Guitar Caviar," CD. And it is quite good. _________________ Amor vincit omnia |
