This is the sunburst FM-52E. I bought it three years ago thinking I'd learn enough to cover the mando parts in 'Chicago', but I did them on guitar instead. Therefore this still resides in its original shipping box.

I understand that these are pretty good - I'm no expert - and it's offered here for $175 + shipping. The first string has snapped (for no reason that I can comprehend - it certainly wasn't 'cause I was practicing on it!!!) but otherwise I can't see a blemish anywhere.

I don't have a picture, but a trip to the 'Musicians' Friend' web-site will suffice.

I can take PayPal, but add 3% of the total for their commission. Otherwise, I'd like a USPS Money Order.

Bump...

Just to clarify - this is a hollow-body with a single pick-up. It resembles an 'A' style in general outline.

Sorry, Ron - right now I can't; my wife has the digital camera at work with her.

Go to 'Musicians Friend' and look up the FM-52E under Fender Mandolins - there are pics there and mine's identical.

Hey that looks just like this one . .

It's a great little mandolin - stays in tune and everything!
I've used this one in quite a few recordings.

These are surprisingly good sounding and playing mandolins. I've used one for years.

Are there any feedback issues with these? Can they get "out front" over the elec guitars in a live gig situation without howling?

Dennis,

I honestly don't know - my one has never been out of the house, never mind 'out front'....

Maybe Kevin has more experience with his.

Is this a rhetorical question, or are you interested in perhaps acquiring this fine piece of luthiery?

No feed back and they cut through the mix. Believe me, they do the job just fine. For the money, in an electic band they do great. I use mine through a Behringer Acoustic amp with feed back elimination on it. The Behringer allows for full range equalization with anti-feed back controls.

Other than the original shipping box, is there a case, too?

No case - they don't come with one, and I never had occasion to take the instrument out.
