A friend of mine in Portland had Bob go through this guitar over a year ago. Bob built guitars at Sierra for many years. His work is just great! He is now in North Dakota building custom order steel guitars. Here is some info from Rudy Alexander:

"Lee Wheeler built this guitar for Norman (Smiley) Miles in the 1960's in Portland Oregon. I bought it from his widow a couple years ago. It had a primitive push-pull system. I sent it to Bob (Alvin) Unrue in North Dakota. He put a Sierra modular pick-up and receiver. He built a new under carriage from scratch. Double raise double lower and built a maple fret board with wire frets a beautiful job."

The guitar was was late 60's or maybe early 70's. Bob is a master builder. Just wanted to share some pictures of his work.

That's a pretty good looking guitar now, Ken. Is that an E9 set up with the Franklin pedal?
