I would like to take this means to proudly announce the introduction of the Stage One Licensed by Zumsteel economy pedal steel guitar. This project has been in development for many months.
I worked as Bruce Zumsteg’s helper at Zumsteel for a number of years and assembled many Stage Ones under his guidance and watchful eye. As Bruce no longer has the time to devote to this model, we have come to an arrangement where I will build and sell the Stage Ones on my own. They will be built by me at my workshop in Branson, MO. Bruce will no longer build or sell any Stage One guitars. The Stage One has been produced for about twenty years and to date there have been approximately 400 sold, with about half of these going to Denmark and the Netherlands.
A few improvements have been made to these already fine instruments in order to provide an even greater value.
FEATURES
Professional Grover tuning keys
New custom designed humbucking pickup
Four knee levers standard, three floor pedals
Aluminum pedal rack
Colored fretboard position markers
Raised neck
Full thickness horizontal grade laminate covering
Fixed length chromed steel legs
*Optional adjustable legs available
Hardshell case
Choice of colors – teak woodgrain, black or red
The guitars are priced “builder direct” so as to be an excellent value to the consumer, no inflated retail price here.
Production will necessarily be limited as this is more of a hobby for me, but I should have several ready by early June and a good supply through the summer. I do have a couple of guitars with minor blemishes available now at a moderate discount.
It is difficult to express how honored I feel to have Bruce Zumsteg to allow me to take on this task.
I have a simple website running, www.stageonesteelguitars.com
E-mail doug@stageonesteelguitars.com
Contact me, not Bruce. It’s my deal now. Pictures are available with more to come in the next couple of weeks. Wish me luck!

Thanks to all for the encouragement.
The setup is permanent, with welded bellcranks.
Emmons pedal setup, raise and lower E on LL & LR, raise F# on RL, lower D# on RR.
I sure wish I could play everything that's possible on that setup!

Thanks, Joey! I felt that 4 knees should be standard, it doesn't cost much more or take a lot of time. Give people what they need and build it well. By the way, I love that Beard GoldTone Maple Deluxe you sold me. |

Mike,
If I ever finish this job in Canada I will certainly bring one to the party!
Do any of my friends in the Ozarks have a milling machine to do small jobs? I have a couple of little "experimental" projects...it's a 3 hour drive to ZumSteel World Headquarters. |

How would the Stage One Zumsteel compare with the new Jackson Blackjack, price wise and performance wise? _________________ LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN GEORGIA |
