Thanks for the nice comments. Tom, you've built some very nice looking instruments also. Keep up the good work.

That is sweet!! Do you have any pics of the build? If so please post them. What did you use for the bridge/nut and control plate?

How about a close up of the string retainer(?) behind the bridge, and a description if it's as interesting/complicated as it looks from the photo's hard to see angle?
Can't bring up the sound at the moment, what do you have it tuned up to?
Did you do the fretboard yourself, and what's the scale?
Not a fan of 'plank' style steels, but this one looks better than most. Congrats! |

Thanks everyone,
I added a couple more pictures. I should have, but didn't take pictures during the build. The control plate, string holder, nut and bridge are made of stainless steel. The string holder is a L shape. Being a machinist by trade for over 35 years, I made these items myself.
I use a tuning that is unique to me, I've never heard of anyone using this particular tuning. From high to low, F#.012, D.015, A.011, E.014, C#.017, A.020, F#.022, E.030, C#.036, A.042. I can get several different chord or partial chord voicings with this tuning.
Thanks, Norm |

The scale is 24 1/2 inches. I had the fretboard made at a graphics place here in town.
Thanks, Norm |

Hi Norman---Great looking guitar. I absolutely love the bridge and pickup area, Did you make the bridge? Ive been thinking of putting something on mine like that. My scales are 24 inches and 22.5 and sound pretty good.
Thanks again for the Picts.
