Buck was a good dude, and very talented. I've known him for many years and played with him occasionally at gigs around town. He leaves behind a wife and 7 month old son who he adored; very, very sad...

His CD featured vocals from Jim Lauderdale and Allison Moorer, with great steel by Mike Daly (the Nashville one) and Tony Paoletta. Great material too; check it out...

Rest in Peace, my brother...

This is really sad. I met Buck once and remember him being a really genuine, heartfelt and talented human being. I've been to his parents home in Texas and they too are wonderful people ~ My heart breaks for them and his wife and child. My buddy, who was good friends with Buck called me after it happened. So sad. Rest in Peace Buck.

Respectfully,
David Burr

He seemed like a nice kid. I met him in Nashville at a Billy Block show. He was from Stephenville, Tx, so we talked about the people we knew.
How freaky is that? Have a flat tire and get hit on a frontage road while looking for a mile marker. BTW, does AAA require you to give them a mile marker, and expect you to take out walking in the dark of night? You may have to walk, well, a mile. Some roads don't have markers.

I was wondering the same thing. It doesn't seem right.

There are a lot of people that can't (or shouldn't) be walking alone on a highway in the middle of the night.

There was a benefit in Nashville this past Tuesday for Buck Jones wife Amy-Beth and their 7 month old son. Nearly $50,000 was raised and the live performances were by Big & Rich ... Billy Currington ... Jon Bon Jovi and his guitar player Ritchie ... Jewel and others.

Buck Jones label; New Light Entertainment sold CD's at the event and donated all money received to Bucks family and continue to work his product to radio.

I know Big & Rich and Bon Jovi have taken a couple of hits on the fourm because of the music they play, but what they did this past week was pretty alright in my book.

The road is a cold, unforgiving place...........anything can happen. The more time you spend out there, the more likely something's gonna happen. Most of us get lucky; some do not. This is a tragic story.
