You removed my pertinant post about Dick Roberts from 'no peddlers', your E mail address ain't taking to allow us to discuss the matter off air, I post a question about these points and you remove that post without a response?
I'm not alone in thinking your actions on this are odd and unwarrented.
Are you going to remove this post as well without affording me the basic decency of a legitimate response?

Lighten up, Ron. Brad is at home, still very ill and recovering from his hospital stay. He's temporarily given up his SGF moderator duties. But that's almost beside the point - when have you ever seen Brad make a bad call as moderator? I've seen it exactly ..... never. |

As it says at the top of the topic, it was moved to the Music section. Brad probably did it because the Ebay item is a fiddle not a steel guitar.

Andy, I can appreciate what you say and that's why I kept it off the air until it got too stupid.
Maybe it's not his doing, I don't know, someone obviously has the time to make sure my lap steel related posts get moved or deleted, but don't have the common decency to simply inform or reply.
At this stage I'm not in the mood to lighten up. Plenty of others post vaugely steel related topics all the time or divert a serious post elsewhere, usually to jokerville, and this is allowed into infinity.
As far as the 'never' part, wrong.
Several of my posts have been locked while many others quite similar or of even lesser value continued. Overall, I've been happy with the 'no peddlers' section, but this time I needed to speak up and deserved some real answeres, not this BS.
Simple communication could have nipped this in the bud...
Herb Stiener thankfully chimed in on the Dick Roberts post and it is well worth checking out in the boonies of the 'music' section.
bOb, yes it's a fiddle, but Dick Roberts is a steel guitarist, and that's the main point of my post, to generate discussion about a rarely heard steeler from a band and era that obviously appreciated steel, as well as showing an interesting piece of history.
Where's the problem?[This message was edited by Ron Whitfield on 27 April 2005 at 11:44 AM.] |

Ron, you REALLY should cut Brad some slack.
He is less than a week out of the hospital, after an extended stay,
and still very ill,
not just feeling poorly and out of sorts,
There has been a damn serious thread about his in Extended Family...
you seem to have missed...
If he misjudged a thread...
well I for one say I am so HAPPY he is even up to look at the forum at all,
it is a sign of significant progress.
I am SURE he meant you and your topic no harm whatsoever.
So please Ron, this time put your peek to bed, and say a pray for Brad to be able to get out of his tomorrow without pain.

David, I don't think I've missed much lately.
I'm aware of Brad's unfortunate situation.
But per bOb, he's still moderating the section and I guess the one responsible for the recent actions that I'm not happy about and I do expect at least basic consideration towards an explanation, especially when asked.
What I did not expect was to find my post to him completely gone, deleted, with nothing from him in response.
Get well soon Brad, I'd love to hear from you someday. |

Well even if he is a steeler,
it seems to me also to be more about the fiddle.
And I do see it saying
"moved to music."
It gets to be about band history when Herb posts his stuff.
I just gave it a bump. Hope we see more info too.[This message was edited by David L. Donald on 27 April 2005 at 12:54 PM.] |

If you're questioning 'deleted', my post to Brad about his Email not taking was deleted yesterday, not merely moved somewhere else (or, I havn't found it, yet).
I'm not interested in debating anyone concerning this.
This post is to hear from Brad. |

You seem to be missing the repeated fact that this is not the post that was deleted.
Deleted, was what I posted in 'no peddlers' yesterday to Brad informing him that his Email was not accepting, titled- Paging Brad Bechtel

Ron,
I'm sorry if you think I'm ignoring you. I'm not trying to do so at all. Believe me, I've got lots of time right now.
I responded to your posting (Paging Brad Bechtel) by sending you an email at the address given in your profile (msteeln at yahoo.com). Did you not get the email? So far it hasn't bounced to my account.
After responding, I deleted the posting since it was addressed just to me and wasn't relevant to this area of the forum. I could have moved it to the Feedback section but I usually don't do that sort of thing.
My email address has been wellvis at well.com since 1992. Spammers seem to get through just fine. I'm sorry you're unable to contact me. You could also try wellvis at mac.com.
As b0b said, I moved the eBay posting on the fiddle to the Music section since I felt that was more appropriate.
Please let me know any other issues you have with these decisions privately. I'm happy to be of service.

Sheesh, it's not all about the fiddle.
It was about Dick Roberts, steel guitarist, and an interesting situation with an item that happened to be a fiddle.
Do I need to include a full page disclaimer of sorts to maintain the obvious when I post about a steeler?
I'd appreciate it being reinstated where I posted it. Thank you.
And, I've recieved no Email from you.
But I do wish you well health wise. |

Ron,
I certainly didn't get that you were trying to establish a discussion about Dick Roberts based on the contents of the original posting. Again, I moved the discussion to the Music forum as the instrument in question was a fiddle, not a steel guitar.
Perhaps I acted too quickly, and for that I apologize. Since I don't have the ability to move threads from other areas of the SGF into this forum, I'll establish a new thread discussing Dick Roberts to see if anyone else has anything to contribute on him.
Feel free to contact me again privately at either of the email addresses I've given above if you have any other issues.
