My birthday is March 13 and usually falls during or around the Dallas show; last year in Dallas I took possession of my Legend, with a pad.....this year on that same weekend it was an identical Legend with the pad replaced by ,what else, the C6 neck, sorely missed, I might add, even tho I don't spend much time on it, when I need it, I want it. One thing that really helps is the roller system on the MSA case....anyway, Johnny Cox once again built me a wonderful guitar that plays like a dream and sounds just like I want it to (even with ME playing it).
Thanks again Johnny and MSA,
Russ Hicks

I'm glad my dear and life long friend, Russ Hicks felt obliged to post. I feel a horn tooting is indeed in order for another dear, life long friend, Johnny Cox.
Johnny is not only a quintessential pedal steel player's steel guitarist, he also understands the attention to detail of building a pedal steel guitar. The MSA pedal steel guitars assembled by J.C. for me have been and are the best I've played in a 30+ year career.

Russ I know you have been playing a D-10 PSG most of your life, but did you ever consider a S-12U PSG?

Well mine's a comin, Russ when you let me sit down to your Legend in Dallas, I just couldn't beleive how well it played, and how well it fit me.
I ordered a Legend SD-10 somewhat like yours in color Russ and can hardly wait to get my paw's on it.

I also went over the MSA guitars from one end to the other, and I will testify to Johnny Cox's expertise workmanship and quality work.
Like I said, I'm counting the days now. Very Happy

Tommy W. sure would like to see you at the mesa Az. some day.

Congratulations! Russ on your new steel. I saw it at the Dallas show and it sure is nice. I was also impressed with the assembly work of Johnny Cox, so much so that I purchased the 12 string cabinet which was shown at the show and Johnny is putting together for me. I have also ordered another to be built as well. I am sure that each MSA player is spreading the good word about such a fine, high quality instrument. When I returned back from the show, I explained to a close friend of mine how great these guitars are, and he has since ordered one as well. The fit and finish, attention to detail, assembly, playability and most important tone is unsurpassed. Thank you MSA.

My SD-12 Legend came out of the case ready to play on the day I received it. The only tweek's I had to make were to adjust the tilt of my KL's and dial in the height of my pedals. Both taking all of 2 min's with the wonder undercarriage adjustments built into the MSA guitars. Thanks for the great set up Johnny!

You guys are all too kind. I very much enjoy the work I'm doing here at MSA. I always try to build every guitar the very best it can be. I can't take all the credit though. It's true that I do the assembly on all the MSA pedal guitars, but there are several other folks that make it all happen. We make almost every part in house and the guys that do the machining are the best that can be found. Kyle Bennette does the finish on the Millennium, Studio Pro and some Legends. And we have the best polisher anywhere. These guys along with Sonny, and Stan Bennette, Reece and Malcomb White make what I do a easy and fun. Thanks to you all for the compliments and for playing MSA. Tommy, your my brother and your new Legend is in the works too.

Johnny, I agree that it takes a team effort to produce such a fine product. MSA is fortunate to have such a great team. Kyle informed me that Tommy had ordered a new Legend. Are you free to say what scale length he selected? I know it is preference, but I am curious. Thanks.

All of us at MSA are extremely proud and blessed that Johnny and Joan Cox came home to become part of our "in house" family.
