I tried it out running the steel thru it yesterday ..the sound was not bad.
I heard it was a linelevel box.. should it be patched thru the efx in/out?

Bo,

Yes, indeed! I found out after I bought one of those units that it does need a line level signal at the input!! Just patch it through your amp's effects loop and I think you'll be very pleased with how much better it will work Very Happy

I used an MPX-100 for quite a few years. It had both an input level knob and an output level knob. It worked equally well between the volume pedal and amp input and in the f/x loop of my Evans and my Nashville 400.
