MP3 below...

well last night and this morning instead of my typical "Polish my technique" practice session..I did a 3 chorus 12 bar blues with the dang BIAB..used the programed Bass line, plugged in the Les Paul, hunted down the Blues Driver pedal, plugged it all in..and here's what came out..all because of the BLUES thread started this week..dangerous minds need to take risks...( or worse)

It's not Way to Survive..

But what it is is playing around a simple theme for the Steel, trying to stay closer to the traditional Blues phrases of perhaps a Duane Allman style...basic, but played out of at least 3 or 4 positions..and yes, AB pedals in, A Pedal in, Open Pedals..anything to get the dang notes at the right fret position..The biggest issue really is the correct sustain settings, this one is direct thru a tubepramp, it's ok but not what I would use as a final deal. The whole concept in my view is really sliding in and out of phrases..the attitude I suppose. I think I need some more attitude but this was a good experiment ..and I did get to play the LP, which is something I don't do very often..I do play this stuff on the gigs as well. (and loud)

Blues in A

Picked Electric Bass..all other patches on mute

here it is if you want to fool with it in the privacy of your own Headphones ! Key of A, no Guitars...just you, the fuzz box , the BIAB track and the phones...

Tony, sounds great and thanks for the SGU file. Killer 6 string also. I'll try it out. This instrument is so amazing, find stuff all the time. The other night I hit on some real nice things at the 8th fret with my 7th raised to G and B pedal in. I raise my 1,2 and 7 on the LKR. Not a string I couldn't use. Some jazzy bluesy sounds centered on the 8th. Didn't even know what key I was in and having so much fun I didn't care. Must be a NC thing. Keepum coming. DS

Nice, Tony. Lots of blues bands and fans would welcome a steeler than can play blues like that. It's a whole world out there. The only ones frowning will be some slide guitar players who can only play like that in one key. Smile

Hey thanks guy, this stuff is actually quite fun, and not difficult..

Stan, E9th all the way baby...

Andy, I don't know if I rock, maybe more towards ROLL Sad

Donny, loose the 'verb? ..uhmm..ok I'm game..I'll give it a wack...

sounded good man...
I occasionally go to a blues jam with my double 8 magnatone. ( I call her little Maggie) It is a noce change of pace from " A way to survive"
Keep up the good work.

Sounds like an old white guy trying to capture his misspent youth by playing a steel guitar through an effects modeler Rolling Eyes .
Do I win a prize?
