I am happy to let everyone know that Jack Kondora is back playing steel with The Cross Band. It is wonderful to hear Jack's hand and fingers have healed enough for him to start playing agin. Jack and a table saw mixed it up and the table saw won.
I took Jack's place playing steel guitar with The Cross Band, while Jack's hand and fingers healed. I also learned that Gary Atkinson, from Conway, Arkansas has joined The Cross Band. Gary is now one of the main singers, and also plays guitar. I also learned that the new bass player is Bob Morris's brother. I used to play with Bob Morris. He wrote Buckaroo, Playboy and around 50 more number one songs. I knew Rocky, the trumpet player/singer, had part of his index finger removed from an infected splinter. I was told Rocky has fashioned a wooden extension he puts on his index finger, and he can still work the valves on the horn as good as he ever did. When I played with The Cross Band, I really liked Rocky's horn playing. Who knows, The Cross Band may invite me to sit in and play with them sometime. Two steels in a great Gospel Show, sonds good to me. |
