Hi Todd,
this is a picture gentleman posted on the forum under "Dallas pictures", it is a great picture,Johnny looks amazing.I was trying to get a lap band surgery but my insurance doesn`t cover the cost of that typ of surgery and I don`t have $16,000.00 for it.I would like to know little more about what Johnny did and what he thinks about it.I was told not to do gastric bypass because it is not reversable and some people actually starve and die.Lap band is reversable. There is few different typs of weight loss surgerys out there and it looks like they do work very well.Side effects are possible of course as with any other surgeries.

I would like to hear the audio too, he must have been doing something really intense to be concentrating like that. Johnny can make more music with his eyes closed and thinking about fishing, than most of us can concentrating really hard. _________________ Darvin Willhoite

Damir, thanks for the compliment. I have lost about 100 pounds since the surgery in June of 2005. I had the gastric bypass. It is a more permanant procedure but is much more effective. I heard all the horror stoies before the surgery from people who said they had a friend who had a friend die. Most of it was just normal B.S. There are risk with any procedure including lap band. I did have complications and ended up back in the hospital three times. These same complications are possible with any kind of surgery. If I had it to do over I would do exactly what I did, it saved my life. I am no longer diabetic, I no longer have sleep apnia, my blood pressure is within normal range and I can buy clothes in regular stores now. My reccomendation to you is to research well. Centiniel Med. Center in Nashville has an excellent weight loss program that includes several different procedures. There are many web sites as well. I will say this, I know someone who had the lap band four or five years ago and has not been able to eat anything but soup since without getting very sick. You know him too but I will not name him on the forum. _________________ Johnny "Dumplin" Cox

Johnny,
thanks a lot for your reply. If you want to you can email me directly,I am very interested to hear what you have to say about all that weight loss stuff.Centenial huh?I`ll have to check into that and see what they do.I was 310 last time at a doctors office and she told me I was a walking heart attack,I manage to get down to 299 in couple of weeks but with my hight I would have to be around 200-210 lbs not 310.Anyway,you look great my friend and Im` very very happy to see you like that.I lost lots of weight couple times in my life and I still remember how great of a feeleing that was, buying jeans size 38 and 36 and throwing all those 42 and 44 in the trash, but older I get harder it is to lose weight.Take care and I hope to see you again sometime,I really enjoy your playing and I was proud of you as my friend and now I`m even prouder with you acheiving all those great things in life.Keep on rolling, you kick ass,I`m happy for you.
take care,

Yes, Johnny, you certainly look great; We know what you had to go thru; Our youngest son and youngest girl both have had the operation, within the past seven years; neither of them would ever go back to being too heavy; this procedure has saved both of their lives; and has taken from them, many medical problems; such as Johnny mentioned. Investigate thoroughly; and go for it. With the good LORD's help, you can do it..Bernie ![Wink](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) _________________ 2007 Zum S-10; 1967 Sho-Bud [ D-10 ]; 85 S-10 Sierra; 1953 Multi-Kord [ 6 String- 4 pedals ] A Sho-Bro six String Resonator Guitar; Nashville 112 Amp; hilton Vol. Pedal |
