Just got back from an amazing show at Radio City Music Hall in New York. (SOLD OUT). Got to meet Eddie Rivers outside after the show, what a nice guy and a great player, playing a 4-neck fender and an old Show-bud. Mike Cass played a GFI with Ray Price and did a Hell-of-a-job, Ray featured him often and mentioned him twice. Ray was awesome, even with a cold, he sounded amazing.

Asleep at the Wheel with Eddie and Floyd Domino backed the rest of the night after Ray and the Cherokee Cowboys played their set. Many standing O's and Ray came out and joined Willie and Merle for some great songs from the new CD.

I read a review of the CD saying they were alittle off in their singing, but tonight they were in great form and the reviewer should be ashamed of himself, I just wish the American Idols can sing as good as them when they are in their seventies and eighties, as the Legends are.

It was cool to see steel guitar featured on the BIG stage, three fiddles and great country classics played to a sold out house.

I wish I brought my camera to get a picture of the neon Marquee with their names on it, quite a memorable night!!

My Tickets were $94.00, plus whatever extra fees, not that pricey compared to other venues in NYC.

Radio City is such a beautiful Theater and it holds I believe 8,000. Our seats were stage right second to last row in the first section. The Halls are spacious, lobby very big and had very large clean bathrooms.

If I were you, I'd go, how many chances will we all get to see any of these guys individually or as a group.

Good luck, Craig

That Four neck Fender is Eddie's "new ride". Once owned by the legendary Gene Crownover that played with Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys for a while.

You most likely heard pedal playing on his old Sho-Bud that was about as close to the original recordings.

Eddie is a very accoplished pedal steel player besides being a knock-down non-pedal player.

He's just biside himself to be able to play behind these greats. The shows have sold out almost every where so if you like these legends get a ticket and go see them while you still can!

Thanks Bill, Yes He did mention Gene Crownover whom I was unfamiliar with. I love Eddie's work on the last few Wayne Hancock albums.

And, yes he was a real nice guy. Told me they had to be in Detroit the next day at noon, and it was almost 11PM, and it's about a 10-11 hr drive with no traffic.
What troopers, hope the BioDiesel kept the buses singing.
Mike Cass also another Midwesterner was great playing with Ray Price, it was nice that Ray elected to bring his own band to play with him. He probably would have made a bigger paycheck, using the Wheel Band, but he brought his own boys.
Again, What a great night, they don't get much better.

I saw Ray Price in Plant City, Florida, a couple of weeks ago and I thought he and the band were terrific. He featured Mike Cass a lot during the show. Ray's singing was perfect with no pitch problems at all. Well worth any price to hear one of the best bands on the planet. Larry
