It seems that the Tablature section of this forum is mostly dedicated to pedal steel guitar. How about a new section geared towards Non Pedal Tablature? Andy Volk would be a great moderator for such a forum. Just a wacky suggestion.

I would suggest that you talk to Ricky Davis about this since he is the moderator.
I think it's a great idea!!!

Been wishing that myself for a long time.
However, there has to be substantial input, which I don't see from the lap crowd.
Roy Thomson has been pretty active with the TABs lately, more like him might prove it worth while.
A tab a day, keeps the rust away. |

ALRIGHT!!!! Yes, Roy Thomson is great. It sure would be nice to have John Ely involved as well. Tommy Morrell. I don't know how active those guys are on the forum.
Ricky is one helluva' lap steel player as well. How about if we just start submitting ideas,. Let Ricky pick out the best suggestions and just build from there. Tunings, tab, guitars, equipment, etc... Let's see what we can come up with.
By the way, I suggested Andy Volk because his book on this very subject was very in depth and informative. I didn't mean to step on any toes! Hopefully, Andy will submit tons of info either way.

Actually Robbie; I'll just stand by and watch from the sidelines....as I really don't have time at all to look stuff over>sorry.
I certainly have time to look at stuff and fix the computer tabbing problems; but for me to check something out music wise, I have to sit at my steel and go over it; and that's what I don't have time to do.
Great idea though> stay with it.
I know Tommy Morrell isn't into tablature and doesn't have a computer. Ely?>well he's a computer genious; but doesn't come onto the forum..ha...

I appreciate the nomination, Robbie, but there are a lot of better musicans than me 'round here as well as folks who can put in a lot more time than I can. I don't think we need new category, just more posts. |

Oh Well....Maybe I've gone overboard with wishful thinking. I guess that I'd just really like to see some more Non Pedal tab. The few posts I've seen on the various tuning options are really interesting and something I'd like to explore further. A new category is probably not necessary as Andy mentioned. And Ricky...I had no intention of trying to dump any more work on you my man...You're busy enough fer' sure.
See Where It Goes............
