Kinda not a PSG subject, but just lookin' for information.
Has anyone else had the both keyless entry fobs for thier Chevy quit within a month of each other?
Do they run out of codes? |

No, the batteries just go dead. Being such a low current-drain, minimal-use device, the batteries essentially last their shelf-life...which is normally about 5-7 years. |

Didja try changing the batteries?
...looks like Donny beat me to it.
...hmmm, and it looks like I can edit my post without it saying it's been edited. Odd. _________________ Patrick |

Sorry, I should add that I've tried all the battery changeouts and stuff...
Darn things just quit working, even with fresh batteries and such... |

Ray, check your car owners' manual. The remotes must often be "reset" or reprogrammed when the batteries are changed. For a lot of them, you just have to be near the car, and hold both the lock and unlock buttons down for 5 or 10 seconds. This re-programs the transmitter fobs' frequencies to the receiver in your car. |

That worked Donny, thanks a bunch, I owe ya one...
The owners manual shows nothing of how to perform the reset.
The Chevy dealer wanted $75 to look at the problem.
Now all is good.... |
