I just bought a hilton pedal.
Love the pedal but the cord on the wall wart
is a pain. Its stiff and won't lay down .
I'm afraid someones gona hang a foot in it
and snatch it loose from the pedal or wallwart.
any way to soften it up with out damaging the plastic
thanks for any help
Russ

Maybe warming it with a hairdryer will work?

Russ, It helps to have an electrical receptacle near your pedal so the cord won't be stretched. I sit a rack on the floor next to my steel. I plug the Hilton wallwart into a receptacle which I added to the rack box.
You could also run an extension cord over to the pedal.

Very Happy Russ, thanks for using my pedal. It is a trade off between strength and being flexable. I have experienced what happens to small felexable cords first hand. No matter what kind of cord you have, people are going to trip over it. John Daugherty, I told Gary Atkinsion and Terry Wood you would take my place playing Terry Wood's steel guitar show. The Show is June 9th in Marshfield, and I have to be out of state on that date. John you will have a great time, besides Rolla is not that far from Marshfield.

I always put a power strip right behind my seat. I plug everything into it: amp, volume pedal, any effects pedals. The main thing I dislike is that the wallwart takes up two spaces on the power strip.

Thanks for all the replys,
I love the pedal itself.
Its a shame the power supply couldn't
be built in and a small electric cord
run to it like on electric shavers.
Guess we can't have all our dreams LOL

If a power supply was built in (if there is even room), it would have to undergo UL testing and approval (and probably increase the price of the unit). As it is now, the external power supply already has UL approval. Many companies use external UL approved power supplies just for that reason.

Good point, Jack. Keith and I discussed the issue of building a small power supply (+12v/-12v). Keith pointed out that the Motorola power supply he is using, can be bought much cheaper than we could build one and it is a quality, regulated supply. And as you pointed out, no legal issues.
Keith, I may be able to play some of your licks at the Marshfield show, but I'm not sure if I can look that ugly .... yukyukyuk Laughing Laughing Laughing
On second thought, when you're on stage with lady-killer Atkinson, everyone looks ugly in comparison. Laughing
