Iam getting excessive "THIS PAGE CAN NOT BE DISPLAYED". Checked cable connection to windows XP and it tested okay. Even going to a simple Yahoo.com will come "THIS PAGE CAN NOT BE DISPLAYED". Can some one tell me how to correct this annoying problem? Thanks.

Charles;
You sure don't give us a lot of information to work with.

What is your operating system and service pack level?

What is your browser make and version number?

Have you tried connecting to the 'net with a different browser?

Did this happen recently? If so, was it after you visited untrustworthy websites?

Have you scanned your computer for hijackers, trojans, viruses, spyware, or newdotnet LSPs? Have you looked over your HOSTS file to see if all requests are being redirected to 127.0.0.1?

Check your Internet Options under the Connections tab, to see if something has invaded and setup a dialup connection as your default type of connection. If so, you were invaded by a high-dollar-per-minute dialer to Moldavia, or somewhere like that. Make sure that there are no Proxy Servers listed in your LAN options. Run the Internet Connection Wizard and re-establish a direct to Internet connection.
