There was some talk here last week about laps with levers--What do you think about these? http://www.members.cox.net/aspinwall/Guitars/cropped/206.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y142/archiemaxwell/pedalap2004.jpg

I guess it's a Novel way of doing it, but; WHY? The theory has already been advanced to something called a Pedal Steel~Guitar! Some of us have been there for many years and have either come back or retained the old ‘simple~way’! JMHO!

John. The lap guitar with a pull or two on it is VERY viable. Some players who are using the lap for rock/blues stuff have no need to haul around a hundred pounds of pedal steel. The ability to get a change for a V7 chord or to replace a difficult bar slant is plenty of reason for this. I am all for the lap with some sort of changer on it. Very cool.

Edit: Who built this instrument and what is the cost if it is for sale?

I'll have to side with Bill on this one--Though it'll never replace the pedal steel and a lot of "purists" may sneer, I think it's got its place in music. Sounds real nice too. I posted an ad on the Harmony Central board for any interested steel players in the Phoenix area to take it for a test drive and give it an evaluation. Same offer holds here. Any takers??

"Palm Pedals" are now "public domain"!
I like seeing that someone else is trying to do the same thing!
