Last night my wife and I had the pleasure of seeing and hearing Russ Wever in the Queen Creek, AZ stage production of "Urban Cowboy" that is travelling the country.
Man, we all know what a great guy and terrific player Russ is, but he has really outdone himself on this one. He was using his Zum with all the bells and whistles, and it was GREAT!! On one song he used his dobro simulator that had me fooled into thinking there was a genuine resophonic guitar doing it; nope; wrong again....it was Russ on his Zum with the simulator.
The show was fast paced, must have had at least 50 songs, with a cast of about 30 singers/dancers/actors/actresses. It was a very fun evening for Meriul and I, then we chauffered Russ back to his hotel and chatted for over an hour. What a great time.
I recommend this show...if it comes close to where you are, go see Russ and here some great music!! Thanks, Russ, you are one in a million.
