CD is great. Lot's of good music. Wish there was more of just Leon ripping it, but mostly it's the usual arrangements and instrumentation for the period.

I have that CD and love the arrangements and Leon's terse playing on there. Wouldn't it be great if there were a "sucessful" band out there being fronted by a steel guitarist these days?

I have the original vinyl on the Stoneway label. It has 12 songs, beginning with "Take It Away, Leon", and ending with "The One Rose". Are they the same cuts as on the CD?

Hello Smiley. You can see the Stoneway album I'm referring to at:
http://ca.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/rout_geo/album?.dir=/1983

The other albums I have are DOT DLP 3139, ABC PARAMOUNT ABC 394, DELTA DLP 1154, COLUMBIA HISTORIC FC 38908 / AC 38908, and STARDAY SLP 171.

If you'd like details/pics of the above 5, just ask. Always glad to share info.

Don't get up, it's only me again. I've put all 6 albums I have on the site now. Sorry, but my scanner bed is smaller than the album so the pics are only the top two thirds!

Smiley:

Details are at the above link. It is a British release on Jasmine containing 27 sides from the early 50s. As I recall, it is transcription material rather than commercial recordings. Entirely unrelated to any LP on Starday, Dot, Capitol, Columbia, Delta, ABC, or Stoneway

Here is another recent one on Harlequin:

http://www.interstate-music.co.uk/HQCD185.htm

This is stuff from 1946-48, mostly 78s from the Majestic label never previously on LP or CD.

It is also British.

Thanks Mitch for posting those. I appreciate it.

I just noted also that two of the old LP's don't have an "e" on the end of his name!!!
