Hi Russ, Are you still playing the Hank Williams Lost Highway Play. I saw the Show in New York's Shubert Theatre in June 22 2003.Your Playing was Superb. Did Don Helms ever get to see the play? Your Playing Was the best part of the show. I am a very big fan of Hank Williams & Don Helms.

Hank -

Since playing at the Schubert I've been on productions of 'Hank Williams: Lost Highway in Tucson, Phoenix, San Diego, Mesa, Kansas City and Dallas.

I am currently on a national tour of 'Urban Cowboy: The Musical' which originally opened at the Broadhurst at the same time I was at the Schubert.

Later this year I'll be on productions of 'Hank Williams: Lost Highway' in Jackson, Mississippi and Roanoke, Virginia and Laguna Beach, California.

In between all this work I also play in another show, written by Jason Petty, in which he presents not only Hanks music but also music that influenced, and was influenced by, Hank.

The friendship between Don Helms and Jason goes back at least a dozen years and they both have great admiration for each others talents.

We were delighted to have Don and Miss Hazel in attendence when we played the Belcourt Theatre, former home of the Grand Ole Opry, in Nashville.

Don has also seen Jason in Lost Highway when it played the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville about ten years ago.

Thanks for your kind words regarding the steel playing. I'm glad to have a Gibson Console Grande to play on these shows, which is a gift from a close friend and steelplayer, Jim Nelligan in Indiana.

~Russ

Very Happy
Russ; Whom head-lines this Show; Does David Church have anything to do with this production? Yes, I, too, am a fan of Don Helms; I loved to hear him when playing with the late & great Hank Williams; At one time, I had records of every hit that Hank recorded; It was Hank's singing and kind of music which turned me on to Steel Guitar playing. I was only 17 years old when the Lord called Hank to a better place. We never did a " GIG", during my years of playing C/W Music, that we didn't do a Medley Of Hank's songs; keeping the dancers on the floor for a half hour, at a time. I'd love to see this "LOST HIGHWAY" Show sometime; Would be great to see it come to Syracuse, N.Y. some time in the future. Make it happen, Russ.. Thanks for carrying on this fine music..Bernie Laughing
