Just a short report on the above combination.
The 8 string Goldtone has a very solid feel.
It has a 25" scale so has good sustain.
It has a super looking, sunburst finish w/ivory binding. It is fashioned after the Oahu Tonemaster.
The Roland Cube 60 is a very versatile amp and has a lot of features that a lap player really doesn't need but I appreciate its "lead" channel with the "black panel' setting. This setting brings crispness and clarity to the Goldtone. It is fashioned after the Fender Twin Reverb amp. It gives you rich lows and a bright high end. When you mix this setting with the onboard reverb, you can get a tone that should satisfy the most discriminating lapster.

I had a Roland Cube at one time in the 80's. 60W and it was orange...Good little amp with a line out as I remember...

Yes, the Cube 60 is solid state with 60 watts. It is top of the line in the "Cube" series. The smallest amp is the micro cube and runs on batteries.
All of the amps in this series get very favorable reviews. There are outlets on the back for extension speaker, line out and tuner out, very versatile.
The amp is a closed back so the lows are very full. |
