I've got an LTD 400 that I'd like to spruce up. Very noisy. What was that Brad Sarno mod I saw some talk about? Also the reverb doesn't work. I've checked the tiny wires in the tank but didn't see anything there. Any ideas?
Thanks,

Joe..

I have an old LTD myself and it too was making a bunch of noise. I contacted Mike Brown at Peavey and sent the amp head and reverb tank to their repair folks. In less than 2 weeks I got it back and what a world of difference in the sound quality. My 2 cents worth would be to send it to Mike and his folks first.

Good luck
Mike

Yeah,I'm getting ready to send my LTD to Peavey,My reverb has been weird for a long time,If you whack a loud chord it just stops..then it fades back in,I've checked every cable, and even put a brand new tank in it.It also crackles a lot.I really like the amp,and Peavey seems to be the only place that can fix it the right way.

I would think a lot of the noise might be comming from bad filter caps. You could replace them and add the bypass caps as described on Brads page. Made a world of difference on my 75 Session. It's dead quiet now, except for the single coil hum of course.

I do the Brad Sarno mods now for Session 400 and LTD 400 amps. Also for the N-400 and Vegas 400 amps as well. Let me know if I can be of help!

I can also supply parts lists and schematics for the anyone wanting to do it them selves, free. I do not sell the kit or offer any tech support to install one.
