The balance of my project arrived in today's mail and I get the pleasure of puting the little guitar together tonight! (with a strat PU until my Lollar arrives)
The question is: Did Fender put the volume control in the forward most hole of the control plate or was the tone control mounted there? I am calling the forward most hole location the one closest to the nut.
Any takers? Thanks in advance,

Fender did the volume toward the nut, and the tone toward the bridge. |

When you wire it up, make the wires long enough to rotate the whole assembly around... I always run the tone control forward- its in the right spot to do boo-wah tone swells. If your wires ar elong enough (but not too long) you can switch it either way you like.

Dave, I did exactly that. I'll be getting the Lollar PU shortly and will make a permanent install(tone in front) using push back wire so at least it looks original.
Thanks for the input!
